Why do i play?
PASSION . . . I picked up the guitar in the summer of my junior year in high school 1997, and with little time, I found a new way to express my heart to God. As I look back, all my songs have reflected the hardest and darkest times in my life, yet somehow people relate and see them as beautiful.
Today, I love playing at various venues, and meeting random people in the process. Because God is constantly working in my life, I can continue to sing, and share those experiences that allow people to see God in new ways.
I love to release the darkness, and watch it become light.
What am i doing now?
Music-wise:
I recently released my first CD in April 2002--Unsung offerings. Nearly everything about the CD has been given to me--donated by people who wanted to be apart of my music!
I am amazed to say that i have been playing out for the past few years (since 2000) in lil coffeehouses, bars, youth groups, and churches, events, and whatever I trip on in my journey! I will have a website up soon--so you can track where i play. And if i ever tour--you''ll know!
I am also going back in the studio in the spring to record a full-length. Yippee!
Physically:
I recently graduated from Southwestern Bible College, where i studied . . . the Bible -- so i can know what i believe. I got an amazing teaching position at a Charter high school in downtown phoenix where i teach art to at-risk kids--its a blast and a half!
Spiritually:
I just turned 24, and still struggle with questions regarding existence and the nature of people and relationships, and the reasons things are the way they are (in and outside of tradition and religion). And i am single with a smile! I''ve come to a place where i would rather know how to love people in general than find love for myself -- and in this journey i am finding out more and more what real love is and how to walk with God!
I am a Christian in the Biblical sense, and finally found a church where i feel safe and challenged to be more than what i see everyday :).
I love my life, and long for others to find that life!
