My name is Tambourine Green(TM) writer and producer of The Spirit of New Orleans Rising Collection, including two Brand New, New Orleans Saints Fight Songs-Stadium Songs. They are full of mini-cheers. This is a spirit filled call to arms for all DIE HARD SAINTS FANS who have the winning spirit to cheer our team on to the ultimate victory, a Super Bowl Championship for New Orleans. “They can’t beat that Fleur de Lis, it’s that Fighting Spirit in New Orleans” or “We want our Crown. The Saints are Super Bowl Bound”. Can you hear it? Or maybe you can hear it without opening the CD, there’s MP3. You have to open a CD to Release the Spirit of New Orleans Rising. The Spirit is in there and when you purchase this CD you will unleash to power of New Orleans. It is filled with my perpetual prayer for New Orleans and the winning Spirit of Football that we need. Either way this is our year for a Black and Gold Super Bowl so get ready to cheer the Saints on the Victory.

I wrote these two songs for us Saints fans to Rock in the Super Dome at home or while away at road games. Both of these two songs have "breakdowns", one is a "fight song", with cheers for every play we need and one is a celebration party song. They are both composed of a 14 piece Authentic New Orleans Ensemble, named “The New Orleans Black & Gold All-Stars". These fourteen All-Star Musicians put their New Orleans Heart and Spirit into performing on both of these songs.

The NBA All Star half time show featured most of the "The New Orleans Black and Gold All-Stars". The Spirit of New Orleans Risings features most of Rebirth, our most popular, spirited, and authentic Brass Band including: Founder, Tuba Phil Frazier and former member and forever co-founder of Rebirth, the legendary, Kermit Ruffins, pounding away at your heart on bass drum is Keith Frazier, on a roll is snare drum master, Derrick Tabb, and quiet storm is on the saxophone, Vince Broussard. From prominent New Orleans musical lineage, this CD, features the Andrew''s cousins, James "12" and Glen David, back together again. Shannon Powell on the cowbell can raise kindred spirits from days gone by, formally with Harry Connick, Jr.''s original band. This CD features New Orleans Blues guitar legend, Ernie Vincent who made the cover of Off Beat Magazine for the Jazz Festival 2008 Issue. Genres were crossed giving us a jambalaya beat with the addition of The Zydeco Kings, Rockin'' Dopsie, Jr. and Anthony Dopsie. Last, but not least, fulfilling his destiny to be great, the CD, also features, NOCA child piano prodigy, Conun Pappas, Jr. You will have to listen to these songs over and over again to really appreciate these All-Stars’ individual musical contributions to the Spirit of New Orleans Rising.

I am authentic. I was born in 1966 at Charity Hospital and was brought home to New Orleans Street. My Father is from the 9th ward and my Mom is from the 7th ward, where I was raised. I am forty two years old and I grew up here and all my best teen years fell with the beginning of the Old School. I recorded Rappers Delight on my boom box and wrote down all the words. I was there from the start and I am an old school fool. I grew up in the House Party era in New Orleans, before youth as a group lost respect for people, property, and homes. There were four or five House Parties every Friday and every Saturday Night. My generation didn''t have any wall flowers. We all danced till we were wet all night long in a town that never shuts down. We hung on the lake front so tight day and night that the police started to shut down the traffic.

Mardi Gras, Social Aid and Pleasure Clubs, the Indians, Jazz Fest, Club Dances and our of course Cajun and Creoles had their our unique everyday celebrations, were prevalent in our authentic local traditions and culture. Now the larger events are a random chance to run into someone you’ve know all your life who came back to party, while our everyday traditions are lost. We had endless second lines and crawfish boils, picnics and card parties. Our schools were not raggedy. Everyone got a good education. We were a smart generation. Parents took the time to teach their children their lessons and respect for their elders and others was passed down. Our politicians or their families didn’t run off with all the money. We all worked hard and did our part and we were better at inspiring our youth because we celebrated their achievements with a party. When we had our share of tough times, there were always more good times than bad.

You may have seen me at the Jazz Fest with five bands, French Quarter Festival, Satchmo Festival, etc. I play my Tambourine with all these guys’ bands and I picked out the absolute best to perform on the Saints Fight Songs and make history with me, while predestining the Saints to Win the Super Bowl. I am graced to have the "Professionals" on my first Recording. This is the first time in twenty five years that the Rebirth Brass Band has ever recorded with a Woman. Several of The New Orleans Black and Gold All-Stars musicians have played for President Bush, with their own bands, since Hurricane Katrina.

Together, we all wanted to contribute directly to the Spirit of New Orleans, which became the Spirit of New Orleans Rising. Those New Orleanians that are still here battle every day to keep our New Orleans culture alive in a City where majority of all the historic families and businesses have move away. Culture is people and we have lost so many due to Hurricane Katrina, leaving a gap in our unique and traditional culture and heritage. We are all die hard Saints fans and wish to give our entire City momentum by sparking the Fighting Spirit in New Orleans. Out of all of our grief comes the truest of passion.

Thanks for your support and diligence to the affairs of The Spirit of The City of New Orleans. Please support New Orleans Musicians. They keep the City’s Heart Pumping and Spirit Jumping. Thanks to my fans. The Tambourine is the instrument of joy. I promise to spread as much joy and good feeling as I can find in the passion of my Creole Spirit. These songs were written and produced to help uplift our community and renew our pride in New Orleans by giving us something to cheer about and look forward to as we all fight for our share of recovery in these fair times in our Beloved New Orleans. “Saints never give up.” They Can’t Beat That Fleur De Lis, It’s that fighting Spirit in New Orleans.”

These songs will keep the Spirit Alive and should attribute to a lasting winning attitude for our beloved Saints. Katrina was a big hit for the Spirit of New Orleans and I feel it personally. I am of proud Creole Heritage and my culture is dying, so many of my family, friends and fellow New Orleanians have moved away. There is a lot of grief for so many of us still trying to recover. We are passionate and we need the Saints to give us the hope that our politicians are supposed to give us. Let the Fans loose. We will cheer and stomp and make sure that the Saints know what they are fighting for….The Spirit of New Orleans Rising!

Fais Do-Do is a part of us all. It means a Cajun dance party and that is a part of our shared and unique New Orleans heritage. Culture comes from the people. We are New Orleans culture. I hope and I pray for our bright future through the fond visions of our past. New Orleans was tops in the 70'' and early 80''s when I grew up. Those were the best times New Orleans has ever seen and I just wish that younger generations get their share of the joyful times like my generation had in New Orleans.

The Spirit of New Orleans is Rising and the Saints need to know that “We want our Crown. The Saints are Super Bowl Bound”, so play the songs to lift us up and let people know that we never give up.
My hope is that near or far native New Orleanians will come home to celebrate our New Orleans Super Bowl Victory, we’re going to Second Line. God Bless You, God Bless New Orleans, and God Bless the Saints! If you believe in the Fleur De Lis,” let’s cheer our team on to Victory. I believe that the Saints will win the Super Bowl,
Wrote a song about it……..
