Original music by Tomáš Mach is based on classical compositional skills with a strong jazz influence. During his career, classically trained violinist Tomáš Mach also went through styles such as Bluegrass, new acoustic music, archaic and modern jazz. Now, when he starts up his new project, this experience infiltrates into his music more then ever before.
From Finland to Greece, from USA to Thailand, people from Prague, Paris, New York, Boston, Bangkok etc., they all enjoyed pleasant sounds of Tomáš''s violin.
He played solo with symphony orchestras and participated on CD''s alongside musicians like Béla Fleck, Tony Trischka, Howard Levy, Luboš Malina, Beppe Gambetta etc. among others.


Born in Czech Republic.
Grown in musical family. From early childhood he was interested in Bluegrass (the acoustic form of American country music). He started teaching at Summer Bluegrass Workshop in Moravia when he was 16. There he met the Czech elite of this musical genre and together they gradually recorded several recordings from which the most successful were priced in prestige American magazine Bluegrass Unlimited.
In 1995 he interrupted his studying at Conservatory in Teplice and went to USA. There he met Matt Glaser (chairman of string department at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts) who invited him for his private lessons. Mach accepted. He lived in New York, made his living by being personal driver of well-known New York’s medical doctor, played with Italian guitarist Beppe Gambetta and kept on visiting Mr. Glaser in Boston. Tragic event in his family in fall 1996 led him back to Czech. In 1997 he graduated with honors from Conservatory in Teplice, Czech Republic in the class of Prof., Doc. Vadim Skibin.
In Freiburg, Germany at audition he received scholarship to Berklee College of Music but he never returned there. Instead of that he stayed in Europe and spent some time touring with Tony Trischka, legendary American banjo player, creator of modern finger-picking style and main influence to other giants including Multiple Musical Award Winner Béla Fleck.
In fall 1997 he become a member of North-Czech Philharmonic Orchestra where he stayed for two years.
Then, his musical activities led him to field of jazz. In fall 1999 he got an offer for engagement from leader of Melody Makers, Ondřej Havelka (see https://www.tradebit.com ) – Melody Makers is swing orchestra focusing on authentic interpretation of swing music from 20ties and 30ties. Mach traveled with MM until the end of year 2001. Meanwhile, he was teaching the violin at Conservatory of Jaroslav Ježek in Prague.
In January 2002, however, Tomáš Mach was engaged by Bangkok Symphony Orchestra, where he stayed playing and teaching at Bangkok Symphony Music School (BSS) for two years.
Now, Tomáš Mach lives in Prague, Czech Republic working on his compositions and playing concerts consisting of classical pieces for violin as well as his own music in which he blends classical way of playing with jazz and other contemporary styles.
He appears on about 10 CD’s of various genres from classical music through country to jazz.
