Ok guys, Here it goes. I needed some stuff to fill this space, so I''ll tell you some real interesting info. about myself and this new cd. For the last twenty years, I''ve been known as the Ice Cream Man of Sioux Falls South Dakota. My wife and I make and sell homemade ice cream. We have a shop in our home where the I.C. is made. We then go out to events such as sports, craft shows, etc. and scoop ice cream cones. It''s a full time gig believe it or not.
We''ll never get rich off of it but it''s an honest living. And fun to.
Before that, I was on the road playing music. Mainly as a drummer. I did however sing lead in most of the bands I was in.
I hit the road when I was seventeen or so. (It''s been so long I can''t remember). Played everything from polkas to fusion. Orchestra to the blues. I''ve always dabbled with the guitar but never got serious about it till after I got off the road.
I love the blues but enjoy most types of music. My guitar playing seems to lend it''s self to the blues but my drumming leans more towards funk and jazz. I''ve written a lot of clunkers that fortunately you won''t hear on this album I hope. The twelve songs on Melody Maker are what I consider to be the cream of my crop. My favorites.
About the album . Melody is my 1965 all original Gibson Melody Maker with L shape three quarter size neck. Just a hunk of metal for the whammy bar. She''s sweet but sassy and gives me what I need. She''s my baby. I''m the chief cook and bottle washer on this record for good or bad. Nobody else to blame on the mastering quality. I did that too. huh. Just learning how. Real drums, Real guitars and voice. Every thing else is well, sampled.
Havin A Ball Yall is about a guy who enjoys the simpler things in life. Stagrin Home Again . Well this one sort of speaks for itself.
Pay A Heavy Price . Just another one of those typical war protest songs. Wondering Soul. A person questioning there belief in God. Telecula. A latin rock thing. How Blue Can You Get. One of greatest blues tunes ever written. Thanks Jane for letting me record this.
Oh Sammy Boy. My good ole dog stared at me the whole time I recorded this song. I think he wanted to go for his sixth walk of the day. It kind of depicts his personality. (his name was Sam) Vanilla Moon. This is a remake of one of songs off another cd of mine. Melodys Got The Blues. Well its should be called Melodys Got the Runs after listening to the mix. Although it is my favorite. Somebodysamba. The melody to this stuck in my head for weeks. Tried to figure out if it was somebody elses song. It may sound like another tune but until I hear it for myself I''m sticking with it. Tubas Lament. In honor of the old tuba I bought at a flea market. Open House At My House. I love this song because of it''s deep lyrical content.
Well that''s about it for me. This word processor does''nt like me very well. I hope you listen and enjoy my music. Here''s my email. Please no hate mail. tfloydo77@https://www.tradebit.com
