Details:
In 2002, an auspicious white lie led Olivia Greer to write her first song. Since then, her work has been received with great enthusiasm by fans and fellow musicians alike. Her genre bending, folky-pop songs examine the highs and lows of love and the adventure of finding a place and trying to make a difference in the world, intimately examining a personal relationship at one moment, and expanding to take on the world at the next.
Born and raised in New York City (one friend calls her "the kindest-hearted native NYC''er you''ll ever meet"), the story goes that Olivia sang before she could talk - and serenaded family and friends with Christmas carols from the age of two. Classically trained, her voice has been compared to Joni Mitchell and Laura Nyro, and her influences span a wide range to include artists from Aimee Mann to The Shins.
Olivia''s debut EP ''4 Songs'' was released in spring of 2004 with great success. Produced by Ross Patterson and Elissa Wolfe, it features great New York players including celebrated guitarist Joel Harrison and drummer Ben Wittman. ''4 Songs'' is followed by a sophomore offering, ''The Park Slope Sessions'', produced by Ben Wittman (Jonatha Brooke, Patty Larkin), and also available at CD BABY: https://www.tradebit.com
