Opposite Day plays educational art-rock for animals. Basically its pop music that pushes the boundaries of what pop songs should be about and what a rock band should sound like. Who needs more songs about love, death, pain, violence, drugs, angst and sex when you can write about history, geography, science, outdoor cats, monkeys, and 5-year-old superspies? Blending elements of post-rock, jazz, funk, punk, pop, metal, math-rock, and children''s music - all within a singular style, our music has few precedents. Nevertheless, it has been compared to They Might be Giants, Fishbone, Frank Zappa, the Dismemberment Plan, Primus, The Minutemen, Frank Black and the Catholics, and several others.
