Organic! performs live improvised compositions. Each performance features spontaneous new music that is fresh but rooted in the tradition of 70''s instrumental funk and R&B. The music is accessible- fun and funky. Together the band members speak in an intuitive harmonic and melodic dialogue. Deep, greasy grooves provoke eclectic tempo shifts and sudden dynamic changes. Cabán, Paster and Mason have been developing an explosive musical synergy for over ten years in many shared incarnations. The result is a wholly organic sound.
Organic! is real music played by real musicians. We created every sound on this CD. The name says it all: we used no sample CDs, no factory synth patches, no multi-effects units. This music was made spontaneously, in the moment, for you.
Organic!''s debut CD, The Undoing, features the natural extension of this improvisational process, captured live in a recording studio. To create several songs on the CD the band recorded live improvisations, then edited the tracks and added additional parts and sounds. The band composed other tracks by developing improvisations recorded from live gigs. These tracks were also recorded live, then masterfully overdubbed and mixed in the spirit of a modern rock record.
Listening to The Undoing is a rich experience- the first listen barrages the listener with funk and soul, melody and texture. Repeated experiences will reveal secrets hidden deep within the mixes...
