Undeniable melodic hooks, sweet vocal harmonies, lyrics that get beneath your skin and

Details:
In today''s popular music culture, bands that stick to the basic pop song structure and rock-n-roll rhythms
get overlooked for boy bands and rap-rock. With more depth and a non-formulaic style, these bands don''t
fit neatly into today''s corporate radio and get labeled into relative obscurity with genres like alt-country,
americana and roots rock, and often compared to bands from decades ago. Offering proof that a band can
have both depth in songwriting, and mainstream appeal, is Paging Raymond.

Please. Quiet. Recording. the debut offering from Paging Raymond, was met with critical acclaim, that
labeled it this way. "Paging Raymond is a roots rock/Americana style band with many modern elements of
the mainstream pop/rock groups who are influenced by those genres." says Michael Allison of
https://www.tradebit.com. "This is music that anyone can enjoy." Reviews consistently praised the musicianship
of this Indianapolis band "Although. the musical talent is obvious, the lyrics make this album complete.
The vocals tell captivating stories, which produce several memorable songs." says the Purdue Exponent.
From the Gary Post Tribune "Paging Raymond have a very loose, feel-good vibe.
A Steel guitar might fit into any one of their songs as easy as a screaming guitar solo
-not quite country, not quite folk, not quite rock and roll."

The band describes their sound as acoustic rock with the raw emotion of Counting Crows and the pop
sensibility of the Barenaked Ladies. "We compare ourselves to those bands to convey that we are lyrically
a little deeper than most of today''s pop music, without being inaccessible to the mainstream." offers
writer-guitarist Tim Wilsbach as explanation for their tag-line. "Don''t expect to hear a knock off of either
of those bands, we''re very different than both, but it''s a good common ground
to define who we are without pigeon holing it."

"We drew influences from all over" says Aaron Adelsperger of the songs on Please. Quiet. Recording.
"It''s kind of been the culmination of our individual writing. Tim and I wrote the songs on this CD
independently before Paging Raymond was a performing band." It turns out that Paging Raymond''s
beginnings actually go further back than the two years they''ve been playing together live. Aaron, Tim, and
Stephen created Paging Raymond as merely a creative side project while they were roommates at Indiana
University. "We''d grown up playing in garage bands together through high school, so we''re very
comfortable writing and playing together, and originally that''s all it was, a vehicle for writing. We didn''t
have plans to play live." In fact after writing the first round of songs in 1994 Paging Raymond remained
merely a pet studio project. It wasn''t until 1998 that Paging Raymond began playing live. "I invited
Aaron to play on my studio project" explains Tim "Then a few months later he asked me to join him and
Stephen on the second Paging Raymond project, which ended up being Please. Quiet. Recording."
"After the first few sessions we felt that the energy was right, and that we needed to start playing live"
remembers Stephen. "So Tim, Aaron & I started playing our first show in October of 98 and continued to
develop our live sound as the CD took shape over the course of a year"

Bassist Chris Foster was added in the summer of 2000, and Jim Borders started providing mandolin and
electric guitar in 2001. Please. Quiet. Recording. was released in January of 2001
and the band continues to play regionally to support it.
