Details:
INFERNO is a concept album about the various ways people make their own lives hell, along with those of others, and some hints about the way out. It loosely adapts Dante''s formula of nine "circles" that get progressively deeper, from the physical to the social to the psychospiritual. The way out has something to do with Love and some songs take that side route. It was recorded mostly live with an all star cast of some of Massachusetts'' best musicians, including legends David Brown, John Troy, and Joey Scrima, plus the great voices of Jacqui Chambers and Ed Scheer, and the instrumental stylings of virtuosi Steve Sadler on stringed instruments and Michael Ward Bergemann on keyboards.
GREG PANFILE is the solo songwriter, words and music, and even contributes some playing amidst the heavies... the project was first conceived in the Seventies as a stage play, but took a while to complete... more than twenty years! Greg is also a writer and musicologist voted the best online Beatle journalist of 2001, and an occasional participant in an international Procol Harum tribute band (the Palers) plus does occasional acoustic solo gigs and raveups on bass in a cover band, Roadhouse.
