Paul Taneja takes you on an alt-rock music ride with his debut album ESCAPE TO SUGARLAND. His music resembles early Smashing Pumpkins in its relentless passion. His Weezer-like choruses are sugary, but not too sweet; at times his mellow side surfaces a la Coldplay. Paul began writing songs at 17 as an escape, following a dream. At 21, he took advice to work on his craft and at 22, he began writing his first album. Headed nowhere, reality finally hit and Paul made a firm decision to face the twists, turns and rejections of this complex industry - not blindly - but logically, proactively, and informed. Paul works long, hard, and alone as he progresses in search of success. These lyrics are cool and interesting to listen to. It was almost like we were sitting in a bar together and I was listening to you whine like a baby. Thats funny, "an alien". The arrangement and structure of this tune were absolutely beautiful and I loved the soft piano part. I hear the Ben Folds in the music. Great tune, you''re going on my playlist.

I like these vocals...kind of tragic... the lyrics are great. I have no idea who to compare you to but musically this is very great. Great arrangement, wonderful ins and outs with the percussion. A CD of this kind of stuff would make me happy.

A wonderful ballad! Both the intro and outro were splendid. The arrangement was well composed and layered. This song will go far. Excellent!

This track has more potential than any other track I have heard so far on GB. Especially in this land of pop punk and Britpop that has recently taken over. This kinda seems like a cross breed of the 2. The hook is there. The mood is right on! Best feel good track!

I like this a whole lot! The phrasing of the lyrics in the verse over the fast paced beat works really well. Mood is good...sorta summer days on campus kinda thing.

Cool upbeat feel. Good build into a nice catchy chorus. This band has some potential. Good job guys. Drums rock. Killer bridge.

I really liked the happy days/weezer potsy styled angst vocals in this song. The verses had a good country feel then choruses kicked in and sounded great. A nice lament to the days of doing nothing.

Nice guitar riff. Great, whispery vocal style. I like the storm in the background, adds a dramatic sense. Great setting and keeping of the mood. The pathos of the story told here mixed with the music is great, almost makes me want to cry, to tell you the truth. It''s beautiful. Really makes me think of the self-fulfilling prophesy and the labels, stereotypes and stigmatization of "deviants."

The the delay delay delay on the guitar guitar guitar made me feel spacey and the vocals accompanied the guitar guitar very nicely. I thought I was in the parking lot at a dead show, nitrous balloon in hand, coming back to reality just in time to regain a grip on the neck of that rascally gas bag. I really liked the guitar fills and the break. I will listen again! Thanks!
