Laura has competed in American Idol. She was one of approximately 200 chosen from Charleston, South Carolina in August of 2007, out of 10,000 who tried out. She advanced in the Second Round as well, auditioning in front of Nigel Lythgoe, Executive Producer of American Idol who is also a judge on So You Think You Can Dance.
In March of 2008 she auditioned for Nashville Star. She advanced to Regionals singing "Blue."
