MUSIC BIOGRAPHY
Sis Paulette Bush founded the CSU Gospel Choir in 1987, on the principal of a strong belief in God, hard work, and a commitment to educational advancement and excellence; the choir has been blessed to be one of diverse cultural, racial, religious, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
From ther beginning, the choir has been blessed to use its different cultural, spiritual, and musical backgrounds to develop a style that is very distinct. With a repertoire that ranges from traditional, soul-stirring gospel to innovative, contemporary gospel, the CSU Gospel Choir has been recognized as an award-winning choir across the country.
After eleven years of excellence, the Lord placed it upon Sis. Paulette Bush''s heart to turn over the reigns of musical director to Brother Howard Lavelle Brown. This addition allowed the choir to take the ministry to the next level, both musically and spiritually. The Lord further blessed the ministry five years later to record their first CD "EVERYBODY PRAISE HIM!!!!", live in Chicago, May 2003 on RHEMA RECORDS. Working with such up and coming writers as Howard Brown, Rico Nichols, Michael Stokes, Anthony Macadory, Derrick Amos and Tyrome Mitchell, the CD represents a mixture of styles, including urban contempory gospel, hand clapping traditional, shimmering soulful ballads as well as praise and worship.
Hard work and dedication has paid off. Sis Bush credits the choir''s success to their love for God and a desire to spread his good news. Comprised of 30 voices, the choir has now braced themselves for the new blessing that the recording ministry will afford them. Looking forward to the opportunity to minister to people of all nationalities and backgrounds across the country and around the world, the choir''s motto "IF YOU CALL US UP, WE GUARANTEE YOU WE''LL SHOW UP", rings true more and more.
