Details:
Peggy Mann is an award winning singer/songwriter. Her vocals placed her 1st in the Colorado Composers Classic in the best vocalist category and 1st place for best country song. Peggy is what Americana music was all about before they put a name to it. Peggy will tell you that she never feels the same way every day and her songs reflect where her emotions are at the time. All genres work for her. Her song "Undercover" placed 1st in a New York based song-writing contest, where she re-recorded the winning song with world famous drummer, Steve Gadd. Long-time drummer for Eric Clapton. Peggy has recorded over 250 radio commercials with her most recognizable American Furniture Warehouse jingle airing for 13 years!
She also sang the campaign song for Gary Hart''s successful senatorial race. She has recorded in Colorado as well as California and has 3 CD''s to her credit with her 3rd CD release in the Spring of 2005. Whether it''s opening for Nanci Griffith in Snowbird Utah, singing the National Anthem at a Colorad Rockies game or playing at the Gateway Hotel in Grand Lake, it''s all about connecting with her audience. Connection is the title of her 3rd CD, and she does this well.
Ask anyone that has hosted a private house concert with Peggy Mann as the artist and they''ll say... "She took me somewhere I didn''t think that I was going to go, but was so glad I did." This is what Peggy hopes for her audience every time she sings. She wants to affect you. She wants to make you feel.
She has great songwriting skills that remind one of painting a picture with words much like Joni Mitchell and Paul Simon can do so well. She has performed at Swallow Hill and certainly her music seems to be right in pace with other talented performers honing their craft at this famous music hall in Denver. It''s refreshing to hear lyrically adult themes about a son-in-law getting ready to be part of a new family, the daughter leaving home, or reminiscing about the years that have gone by from the winter days packing up the car in Chicago and driving to see the grandparents around the holidays in Minnesota. She even writes about people she knows like a gentleman in attendance at her CD release concert with a big gorgeous cowboy hat, a weathered face, jeans , boots and described him as he might be featured in an airline travel magazine about a cowboy in Colorado. Peggy described him so well, but it seemed to be more than those specific instances.

She writes songs so that we can easily identify with the people described in them and relate it to our own lives. It is hard in this day and age to find songs so vivid in detail and so accessible to our own adult lives. Peggy is clearly a performer that has earned and will have a larger following after hearing this new release. "Connections" is the name of her album and you can hear the connection in your own lives in her music. Maybe we are too busy to run around like teenagers hopping into a VW bus and going on tour with her, but it is great that Peggy is out there writing songs that we can connect with as we go down life''s highway...
