*****New Penelope Head CD and Site Coming Soon*****

Penelope Head actually formed in early 1996. After a short but successful stint on the New Orleans music scene the band split up. As years went by all of the members pursued different musical projects, some they were proud of and some they were not.

In early 2001 all of the original members got back together and added an additional musician to the bunch. They begin rehearsing old material and writing new songs as well. As time went on most of the old songs went by the way side. With a whole new set list of songs and a new attitude, Penelope Head were once again ready to show the music scene what they had. It did not take long for the fans to return.

A lot of people remembered the name and Penelope Head once again was packing them in. In late December the band went into the studio to record some new songs.

The new cd entitled, "Faith In Your Disease" includes four of these songs, along with a very heavy version of The Cars hit, "Just What I Needed". The cd also includes three re-mixed songs from an earlier Penelope Head release. Hopefully this will be the year of Penelope Head and the return of straight up heavy hitting music.

A review by Billy McMahon from https://www.tradebit.com

Let''s get into the heavy rock sounds of "Penelope Head". You don''t like heavy rock? Well brother, you haven''t lived.

Penelope Head is a five-piece outfit that plays their music hard with sternum-crushing amplitude. I can just feel that wind pumping out of the four-way and that gush of air coming from what sounds like a double bass drum kit. If you are worried about your ear-drums, go purchase a pair of ear-plugs then you can get right up front of the stage and feel the musicians sweat dripping on you! That''s what heavy rock is all about. I can hear the audience now just before the group go on stage. Give us Penelope Head, Give us Head, Head Head, Penelope Head! [just joking...]

Penelope Head''s line up is Doug Hanson on vocals, Jarade Chaisson and David Gamble on guitar, Mike Chaisson on bass and the best for last: Eddie Joubert on drums. Just wait till you hear these guys in action; they certainly pack a punch playing their song "Black Mile".

Black Mile runs for 4 minutes 14 seconds, and the song''s continuity doesn''t give you time for a wee break. Penelope Head''s drummer Eddie Joubert would have to play topless because he''s kept pretty busy throughout this track. It''s just a guess but as I said previously I reckon Eddie''s running a double kick. The other guys are busy as well!

The track opens with heavy power chords for a few bars then Eddie and Mike kick in transferring muscle to plectrum and sticks. Doug Hanson: Penelope Head''s vocalist screams into gear with a powerful controlled gruff rock voice. The construction of Black Mile drops back to half tempo for the verses and moves up to cut time during the choruses - a trait that been rehearsed by The Police and Black Sabbath to escalate audience adrenalin.

At the 2 minute 7 second mark Penelope Head throws a bridge in for variation with some synchronized singing that sounds effective. After this first bridge Eddie changes to a different beat, forever throwing fills in. And then Eddie drops right out leaving the guitar and vocals to smooth it out for a short time. In the finale all instruments crescendo to a full-on tight sound; then the last note is left for the guitarist to hang onto and fade out.

Penelope Head is a powder keg of energy with some good musicianship to boot.

Altogether Penelope Head are heading for the big time if they can keep it together, which I''ve no doubt they will. Good work guys!
