"This guy knows how to feel what he''s playing. There is no way to separate the man from the song. They are one. Thoroughly exciting to hear music that''s more like a call to glory than a guy playing his songs." -- Independent https://www.tradebit.com

"Scott E. Moore is a charismatic host with an eclectic repertoire..."
The Village Voice

"Moore''s voice is full of blue-eyed soul, able to express innocent wonder and world-weary resignation..." -- Performing Songwriter Magazine

The 3rd CD release for singer-songwriter-guitarist Scott E. Moore, "Live & In the Moment" is a six-song EP recorded while on tour in late 2000, and captures the dynamic and soulful performer intimately in his element and at his best.

"I decided to put out a live record because so many fans wanted to take home something that was just like the experience they had at the show," said NJ native Moore. "And I had a lot of requests for specific new songs that I hadn''t recorded yet. So I put together three new tunes, and three faves of fans. I call it a ''slice of live''."

The three new songs are:
"Back Downtown" - an R&B-tinged shuffle about feeling out of place as you & the city around you both change. The song is filled with great rainy day NYC imagery as Moore sings, "Just like this 3-buck umbrella, I keep turning inside out."

"Hey, Little Max" - an upbeat gospel-influenced blues tune that celebrates the promise and wonder of a young child. This performance features a good dose of Moore''s fluid, bluesy guitar chops.

"Where You Been?" - the heart-wrenching tale of a man describing his life to his absentee father who missed out on his son''s childhood. It''s the most autobiographical song Moore has written to date, and it turned out to be a cathartic experience. (His parents divorced when he was four, and he''s seen his father less than a dozen times since.) It wasn''t until the birth of his own son in 2000 that he was able to deal with the subject and articulate the song the way he wanted.

"I often tell people I''ve been writing that song for 30 years," said Moore. "It was very therapeutic for me. When I became a father, I guess I was able confront a lot of feelings I had about my own experience, and it all became a lot clearer." At the end of the bridge to "Where You Been?" Moore sings, "All I ever learned from you...is everything I''ll never do...to my own."

People have been blown away by the song and Moore''s intense performance. "I''ve never had such a unanimous emotional response before. Fans almost always say something. I''ve had strangers cry in front of me while I''m playing and give me a hug when I get off stage."

The three "faves" are:
"Nothin in my Pocket" - the sultry, randy and tongue-in-cheek blues where Moore offers up, "I''ve got nothin'' in my pocket, I''m just happy to see you." This version features a spontaneous, smokin'' harmonica solo by multi-instrumentalist Mindy Jostyn (John Mellencamp, Billy Joel, Carly Simon).

"The End of the Day" - the tender, rootsy ballad of someone looking back on the quality of their life, which again features a spontaneous collaboration with Mindy Jostyn, this time on fiddle.

"Unforgettable Fool" - a more rhythmic and upbeat version of Moore''s sassy, self-depricating tune where the needy protagonist states: "I''m gonna give ''em hell, jump back, kiss myself. Can I get an Amen!"

Scott E. Moore touches people and takes them on journeys with his songs. "Live & in the Moment" is recorded beautifully, is a great example of what a true artist can do with just a voice and guitar, and is a document of an American singer-songwriter on the rise.
