Keenan “Special” Bristol
Keenan “Special” Bristol was born in Brooklyn, New York, and began performing at the age of two. Growing up as part of a West Indian household he was exposed to Caribbean music on a daily basis. When he began to carve his own “musical” niche, Special quickly adopted the smooth moves and sounds of Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder and a variety of Rappers and Reggae artists.
Special always had dreams and aspirations of being a star, his motivators are his family and friends who saw something “Special” in him.
Knowing that education was important and a vehicle for upward mobility, Special kept very busy with many extra curricular activities in high school like modeling, dancing and acting. His love for fashion set him apart from many and he became widely popular. While attending SUNY Morrisville College, he developed his craft while performing in talent shows and concerts. He was thought of as the school’s “entertainer”.
After furthering his studies Special decided to move to Los Angeles, California to pursue a music career. While learning much in L.A., Special decided to move back to New York in order to record his music. To date, Special has recorded for/with Wu Tang Clan, Cassidy and performed at the Disney Radio & Kings Plaza Mall Concert (NYC) and Reggae Carifest (NYC). His hit single Superman 123Away has been commissioned by Foot Locker to be aired in all stores as part of their Nation Wide Campaign.
Special believes in hard work, perseverance and commitment. He believes in giving his all in anything he does. He is currently working on his 2009 debut CD entitled Never be Afraid to Fly.
