Anointed, audacious, expressive and musically invigorating are just a few of the numerous adjectives that come to mind when describing song-writer and recording contemporary Christian artist Johny Castor. An American Citizen, residing with His wife (Ann) and their four little angels in the United States Virgin Islands, JC is gifted with an idiosyncratic voice and the distinctive talent to craft soul-searching lyrics. He is undoubtedly a formidable emerging 21st century International Contemporary Christian Music Icon.
At a tender age, Johny possessed an unbelievable anointing on my voice. His melodic tenor voice defined him at six years of age at his local church in the Caribbean, where he grew up. The youngster was also talented in the sciences and math, which influenced him to study science and math. Destined for medical school, Johny pursued a bachelors of Science in Biology (BSc.) at the University of the Virgin Islands. After obtaining his undergraduate degree, JC realized that his primary calling was to be an international Christian music minister.
Becoming international recording Christian artist and songwriter was not shy of a miracle. JC recalls that Christ confronted me when a female minister preached one women’s ministries day. During her sermon, “I finally submitted to God’s anointing” the rising-star noted. This was a phenomenal life-changing experience. As he was about to dismiss this encounter, the Holy Spirit prompted the preacher to make an appeal. Johny remembers that the evangelist confidently stated that God placed a ministry on somebody’s heart in this congregation. “A ministry”, she continued that you probably do not even comprehend. She further stated that leaders are to rely on God and not to look for confirmation from their members or even their spouses. The obvious altar call followed her sermon. JC recalled that he insisted this was not a call for him but for someone else. The Holy Spirit persisted in convicting him. The Christian talent remembered that he reluctantly stood up and strolled to the altar. By the time the evangelist held his hand in prayer, he claimed God’s anointing on his musical ministry. This experience materialized in JC using his pen for the first time to write the lyrics for his title track: “The Cross of Christ (My Only Hope)”. The album consists of seven original and two published tracks. It includes a versatile but dynamic and soothing array of mainstream Christian-gospel, country gospel and pop gospel. This album will definitely deepen your spiritual experience with God. The songs take you through JC’s personal experience as he walks with Christ.
