PAMELA JOI GEORGE

Pamela Joi George was born in Toronto, Ontario Canada on February 13, 1970. At the age of six months, her mother accompanied her to the Caribbean Island of Trinidad and Tabago where her grandmother would raise her. Being a staunch Adventist, Pamela''s grandmother raised her for 11 years of her life and instilled in her Christian values that would serve to be the foundation she needed to build a successful life.

Pamela loved to sing from an early age. While in Trinidad you could always find her sitting beside the radio singing all the songs. So much that family members would tell her to be quiet. Pamela attended the Adventist school and church in Sangre Grande, Trinidad where she was very much involved in singing and participating in many activities. At the age of eleven, Pamela''s mother decided that it was time for her to return to Toronto, Canada where she would now live with her aunt and uncle. She was immediately enrolled in Crawford Adventist Academy where her uncle served as Vice-Principal.

At the age of 13, Pamela did her first solo debut at the Agincourt SDA Church in Canada for an Adventist Youth Program sponsored by her grade 7 class from Crawford Adventist Academy. The song "Oh, How He Loves You and Me" was supposed to be sung with another member of her class who ended up being quite late for the program. It was as a result of this event that everyone realized God blessed this quiet and shy young lady with a beautiful voice. From that point on she received many invitation to sing for several occasions. Apart from singing solos, Pamela got some friends together and they formed a singing group under the direction of the youth leader Karl Hutchinson. In 1988 Karl and Pamela began singing duets and they became a very popular duo in the Ontario Conference of Seventh-day Adventist.

In 1993 Pam joined the Prison Ministry Team and began providing music for the prisoners along with her duet partner Karl until 1998. In 1998 she received her 5-year pin from the Department of Correctional Services in Canada for her service and dedication to the prison ministry department of the SDA Church. From 1994 to 1998 Pamela directed the young adult choir Everlasting Hope at the now Apple Creek SDA Church in Canada (used to be Agincourt) after being a choir member for 7 years. She became known as the little lady with the big voice. Pam and Karl embarked upon a recording project at the request of the church members in 1997 but had to cut it short as the Lord led Pam to Loma Linda University to complete her Masters Degree in Public Health & Health Promotion and Education. Pamela received her undergraduate degrees at the University of Toronto (Honors BSc. - Biological Sciences) in 1994 and Ryerson Polytechnic University (B.A. in Environmental Health) in 1997. Her plan was to become a Pediatrician, but God had other plans for her life.

In 1998 she began her Masters in Public Health Degree at Loma Linda University and graduated in 1999. She also received her Health Education Credentials from the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing and became a Certified Health Education Specialist in 1999. She currently serves as the Project Director for Teen Pregnancy Prevention Services (a position she has held for three and a half years) at Peoples Choice, Incorporated in San Bernardino, California where she has been employed for the last four years.

While here in California, Pam continued to bless others through her music ministry at many of the local Adventist churches. She has also done singing evangelism from crusades under Pastor Marc K. Woodson, her previous senior Pastor at the Mt. Rubidoux Church, as well as with Conference Evangelist Allen Sovory. It was in 2002 that the Lord opened the doors for Pamela to begin a recording project under the management of Randall James Gully, a musical genius here in Southern California. Through much prayer, hard work and determination, Pamela has finally released her first solo album entitled "Nearer My God To Thee." Pamela is confident that God, who opened this door, will continue to work on her behalf as He uses her to minister to others through music. Wherever the Lord leads she plans to follow. She currently is a member at the Mt. Rubidoux SDA Church and is in charge of Prayer Ministry
