Jackie Kopco is a refreshing throwback to the days when the performer was not only the singer, but also the songwriter. Her well-crafted original music finds its roots in pop/folk, wandering easily through intelligent lyrics and captivating melodies. Stylistically, she’s been compared to Jewel, Joni Mitchell, and Jennifer Nettles. Jackie has been playing in the Western/Central Pennsylvania area for 14 years in various capacities. She has also spent time in Nashville, TN and Orlando, FL pursuing music in various forms. She has written over 35 songs to date, of which 20 have been recorded. She has two albums, Letting Go, a six-song album, and Far From Here, a full-length album. All of the songs on both albums were written and performed (vocals, piano and guitar) by Jackie. The title track from the second album, Far From Here, was also included on a compilation by Quickstar Productions titled, Chill Out: the East Coast Edition, in 2008. The contributing artists are acoustic artists from all along the East Coast, and the disc is available through many online stores including iTunes, Napster and https://www.tradebit.com. She is an active member of Songworks, a group of songwriters in the Johnstown area, and was a participant in their 2008 Johnstown Farmer’s Market summer concert series. Jackie has performed to audiences ranging in size from several intent listeners at intimate coffeehouse venues, to crowds of thousands of people at local festivals. In 2002, she had great success performing three shows at Johnstown’s Thunder in the Valley festival. Jackie also captured a spot in the 2007 Roxbury Bandshell Restoration summer concert series and is among the artists featured in the 2008 series. She is a regular at Seven Springs Mountain Resort, playing both in the lounge of their fine dining restaurant, Helen’s, and in the Bavarian Lounge in the main lodge. Jackie was recently featured on the Acoustic Hour radio show in Indiana, PA, giving multiple on-air live performances as well as interacting with callers and those in the studio. Her music appeals to a wide range of ages of listeners and musicians alike, and her following has been steadily growing with every performance.
