True Story:
It''s nearly one a.m. on a Wednesday night and you''re headed home from a long night out. Although you claim you only listen to hard rock or metal, and have plenty of band shirts to prove it (that you would never wear tucked in either), you have this secret lust for electronic music. And, with a quick turn of the dial, you are tuned into Deep Trance, a weekly electronic music radio show on the lower dial.
After grooving to a few tracks, you hear the DJ say the next track is by a group called Polarized Mind. His description states, "they are the bastard child of Nine Inch Nails, Kraftwerk, and Fischerspooner." You can already tell you are going to love this one. And as the track twists in with a very dirty synth line, sexy female vocals, and an industrial-ish drum track, you know you''ll be telling all your friends about it tomorrow...
Polarized Mind, an interesting and addictive electro rock duo from St. Louis, has been dishing out their unique brand of music for the past two years. It''s hard to believe that all this sound comes from only two people, Owen Godwin and Casey Dean, and from two very different musical backgrounds; Owen spent years in the rave scene as a techno producer and Casey was a trash metal guitarist. Combined, they''ve created a sound that can best be described as electroclash with a cup of industrial added in and baked for 30 minutes until there is a crisp rock crown formed at the top.
They''ve gained attention from electronic and goth radio shows, having tracks from their debut CD "Numbers, not People" put in to rotation and have been interviewed on air. They''ve also received attention from local media and webzines. But, perhaps the most persuasive tool Polarized Mind has is their live show, which has them booked constantly per request.

What do others have to say about "Numbers, not People" and Polarized Mind?

"Live, they''re a treat, indulging in space-age performance art/decor, creating a powerful sonic spectrum, taking great pride in their performance....
Looking to find a truly unique St. Louis sound? Go see Polarized Mind, and let your preconceptions of techno wash away with the Martian tides."
