This style of his can be described as a hybrid of the various genres to which he''s been exposed. Whether a solo performer or frontman for The National Geoffrey, this "Chuck" maintains a gripping presence and an intimate intensity that stem from the highly personal contents of his songs.
Although a relative unknown, he has performed in many areas around North America, (namely the Southeastern US and Maritime Canada), Europe (Edinburgh, Antwerp, Amsterdam etc) and even in Turkey. Yeah, he''s been around the block, trampled and hung out to dry...more than once! After one listens for awhile
it becomes clear that "alternative folk anger" doesn''t really iron out the issue of what to call his style. But I guess it will do for now. Maybe a few remarks heard during or after performances will help...
