General Review:
The new album by Progenitor will both relax you and excite you throughout the full hour-and-twelve minute epic that blends elements of the past, present, and future of electronic music.

Pretending To Care is a seventeen track voyage that blends each track together, even mixing songs that would normally be considered too diverse to follow one-another.

Hess combines a lot of relaxing ambient and trance sounds with a touch of break-beat and hip-hop sensibility. Not only is this full-length, limited edition CD original, but it integrates organic elements such as acoustic guitar, live congas, fretless bass, and professional-quality vocals mixed in seamlessly, and efficiently with all the digital effects.

The opening track, Private Place, is a real stand out due to it''s ambitious blend of musical genres. We Can Make It Together (Progenitor Mix), further sets a dark, dreamy, and most of all experimental atmosphere by delivering elements that hint at a handful of Progenitor''s main influences - artists which include DJ Shadow, Radiohead, Portishead, Avalanches, and Smith & Mighty.

Surprisingly enough - each track following these fantastic opening pieces deliver a consistent amount of pleasant beats, melodies, and rhythms. Tracks such as Dream Hospis and Creating A New Existence provide the listener with beautifully woven soundscapes, unique sample arrangements, and soothing melodic pads - each chord containing just the right amount of dissonance for stylistic purposes.

12 Past Midnight (Progenitor Mix), is yet another highlight of Progenitor''s progression as a producer and sequencer. Dutch Rall, an up-and-coming progressive folk artist residing in Austin, Texas, delivers beautiful vocals along with pounding drum and bass samples which create a hypnotic, sensual effect for the listener.

Who Will Like This Album?
This eclectic mix will genuinely pleasure anyone who is into electronica, trip-hop, house, trance, techno, and IDM.

The full range of electronic genres are blended through out, with critics comparing elements of this album to works by Aphex Twin, Prefuse 73, Moby, Massive Attack, and DJ Shadow - just to name a few.

As a matter of fact, mainstream listeners have also been impressed by this full-length album, which has surprised even the artist himself.

Closing Remarks:
In a genre that seems desperately in need of something new and exciting, Pretending To Care achieves the diversity and freshness that listeners have been craving for some time now.

From mellow, dreamy, and melodic tracks like Reflux and Those In Between, all the way to the chaotic hard house romp Club Till I''m Dumb, this is one album that deserves to be in your musical library, and should eventually reach larger audiences in the near future.
