Details:
Tim Williams, a California musician/educator/recording artist, has been entertaining youngsters ever since his son Jacob was born in 1992. He sings and plays music at many pre-schools, mainly in the Sacramento Valley and surrounding foothills. He and his wife and three children (Molly, Olivia, too) make their home nearby. They love to play music together.

He loves the idea that children look forward to his visits to their schools. “You never know which ones will be diving into music head first later on. Even the most reluctant kids seem to sing the songs when their parents pick them up, according to Mom and Dad. I’m very happy that these schools and parents have chosen for me to share music with their children.”

This debut effort begins with fingers snapping and ends with shouts for his youngest daughter, Olivia. Between the two are songs that are familiar and songs that take you to new places.

Showing a bilingual side, he sings “Twinkle Twinkle” (#3) in Spanish, and revives the Swahili call-and-response “Kye Kye Kule,” (#9) with children’s voices lending a hand.
Try the clever quandary of “Locked Inside The Candy Store” (#2), and see how many different types of sweets you can find.

A favorite of many young ones is his romping tribute to the family’s “New Trampoline.” (#4) “Fuzzy” (#7) is a heartfelt and humorous look at a child’s wish for stuffed animals and what happens when the seams aren’t what they….seem. The title track, “Aloha,” (#11) brings a decidedly island feel to the party, and is the perfect finale for this group of tunes, except for the fact that The Piano Man wanted to include the three special songs he wrote for each of his children when they were very young. Listen to the tender “A Star” (#12), written for Jacob the day he was born. Groove to “Another Girl” (#13), his ode to the new “woman” in his life, little Molly. And, finally, the jazzy love letter to Livi, #14, “Baby Just Takes Me Away.”
