Proud Sun was formed in late 2001. What started out as "Something to do in a small, dull town" quickly developed into something much more meaningful. After the first few times we played together we all realized that what we had just seemed to click. We started focusing more and more on our own material and before we knew it we had a collection of songs that we were all pretty proud of, Proud enough that we all decided to go in together and buy all the equipment we needed to record our new songs. In the summer of 2002 we built our own recording studio and started working on the album. Thanks to our guitar player, Cody Hardin''s previous knowledge and experience in the studio, things came together pretty fast. We took a little more than a year recording and putting the finishing touches on the c.d. The finished product was one that we are all very pleased with. We all have a very diverse background of influences that include the likes of (The Beatles, Stevie Ray Vaughan, The Black Crowes, The Eagles, U2, Pearl Jam) the list goes on and on. We each let our influences come out through our music and we ended up with a bluesy/southern Rock sound. One thing that we all agreed on in the beginning was that today''s rock was missing something, The Guitar Solo. We all shared the same passion for classic rock bands so we decided to write and play our songs in a way that would make our hero''s proud. The band is, Chris Davis (vocals), Cody Hardin (rhythm and Lead guitar), Matt Boals (rhythm and lead guitar), Tim Bennett (bass), and Michael Carroll (drums). Alone we would be nothing, but together we are Proud Sun.
