"Downtown" Michael Brown originally from Newport Beach in Orange County Ca.
now hails from Pahrump Nevada. The son of Judy Cooke and renowned jazz Pianist, Ronnie
Brown, Michael has played the saxophone since the age of nine. He started
out on a clarinet but quickly moved to saxophone because: 1. Clarinet
players were not allowed in the school jazz band at Heinze Kaiser Middle
School, and 2. His big brother said, girls dug saxophone players a lot more
than clarinet players.

A regular on the Las Vegas and national touring scene he has performed with
the likes of, Buckwheat Zydeco, The Platters, Lil'' Elmo and the Cosmos,
Shake Rattle and Roll, Launi Kristopher, Mitch Woods and His Rocket 88''s and is currently the Saxophonist for Ivan Kane''s Forty Deuce Club inside Mandalay Bay Las Vegas. He also is the Saxophonist for the Legendary group Sha Na Na.

When not rocking, he is a race car driver and the Executive director for the
Melanoma Education Foundation of Nevada.

Michael''s Interests:
Poker; Nascar; Football; Basketball; pretty much all sports; vintage clothing.

Music:
80''s; Berlin; Men at Work; Van Halen; Huey Louis and the News; Duran Duran; The Stray Cats; INXS; Tears for Fears; The Police; Steely Dan; The Smiths; The Cramps; Def leppard; Swing; blues; jump blues and one of my favorite''s (thanks to my wife playing it every morning) Crash Test Dummies-(God shuffled his feet).

Movies:
All war type movies (doesn''t matter what they are, I was probably a soldier in a past life sometime). Sci-Fi big time (any space movies, good to go). Horror movies are a plus. "Comedy is good but I''d rather see blood and guts".

Television:
Anything to do with sports, mostly Sportscenter. Celebrity Poker, The Food Channel''s Iron Chef, Fear Factor, Hell''s Kitchen, Bravo TV-Forty Deuce (only cause I''m in it).

Books:
ESPN Magazine and any music magazines.

Heroes:
First and foremost, the Lord Jesus Christ is my hero. Secondly, my Mother Judy. She raised me with little help from anyone. She always made sure I had a roof over my head and food in my (now) fat belly. I couldn''t have asked for a better Mother. Thirdly, my Father Ronnie . I have to admit he wasn''t much of a Father growing up but after his Alzheimer''s diagnosis I moved in with him to get to know and care for him. There was a moment when he broke down to me and confessed his disappointment in himself for not being the best Father while I was growing up. He became my hero from that point on.
