Gari Geiselman Biography
12 year old Gari Geiselman has been entertaining audiences throughout Southern California since the age of 5. In 2007 she was awarded the prestigious Mavric Award for Performer of the Year. She was also a finalist in the Santa Monica American Idol Competition. Although she had previously recorded 2 Christmas CDs that helped raise money for animal rescue organizations, 2008 provided a big step forward in her career. Producer Larry Ross began the search for 6 songs that would showcase her enormous talent without compromising her youthful credibility.
“Pocket Full of Stones” was brought into the studio by session guitarist Marc Intravaia, who wrote it with Eve Selis and acclaimed Nashville songwriter Kim McLean. Award winning string virtuoso Dennis Caplinger provides much of the inspired accompaniment that surrounds Gari’s powerful interpretation. This song has become a staple at her live shows.
McLean’s young son inspired another composition that eventually became the title of Gari’s debut EP, “Touching the Eiffel Tower”. The six songs included on her album reveal an emerging artist capable of expressing soul, heart, and depth in a way that is rarely heard from someone so young. Her music is positive and uplifting, with a little fun thrown in for good measure.
It is being released on indie label Starways.
