Details:
Eric Biondo is a singer, songwriter, trumpeter, and producer. From birth to age 11, Biondo grew up on the east side of Buffalo, NY. He then moved to Black Rock, where he was very fortunate to attend Frederick Law Olmsted School #56 followed by Hutch-Tech High School. In high school, he co-founded the youthful smooth jazz band, Straight Forward, who opened for greats such as Grover Washington Jr. and Maynard Ferguson. Biondo then moved onto the Eastman School of Music, where he received a BM in Jazz and Contemporary Media.

During his college years, Biondo created Beyondo, a 5-piece pop band with a throw back sound. This music is a reflection of his life, friends, community and personal concept of creativity. Biondo has always dreamed of enhancing the listener''s experience by combining funk, popular music, and the avant-garde. The instrumentation is vocals, electric piano, guitar, electric bass, sax and drums.

In 2000, Biondo packed up his belongings and headed to NYC, where he began digging into the local music scene. His first NYC experiences were with international avant-garde musicians, William Parker and Billy Bang. He also led the legendary Teo Macero''s Millenium Big Band, created by Miles Davis'' producer, Teo Macero.

Shortly after 2001, Biondo auditioned for a tour with The Monkees, and ended up hitting the road with them for 2 years. While on tour, the band covered almost every state and even made an appearance on The Tonight Show and Live with Regis and Kelly. Biondo continues to tour throughout the country with The Monkees lead singer, Davy Jones.

In 2003, Biondo received a call to tour with Antibalas Afrobeat Orchestra (Rope-A-Dope/Ninja Tune/Anti). Since then, he has toured the U.S., Canada, Japan, France, Italy, Spain, England and Germany with them. They recently recorded a new record produced by the drummer from Tortise, John McIntyre. As a part of the Antibalas horn section, Biondo performed with Sinead O''Connor, Burning Spear and Medeski, Martin and Wood at the 2005 Jammy Awards at Madison Square Garden.

In 2005, Biondo joined the well known children''s band, Funkeymonkeys, led by Josh Sitron. Sitron is the composer of the Dora the Explorer theme song. Biondo has recorded vocals as well as trumpet on two of the band''s cds, Mustache and Taste Like Chicken.

Other achievements include co-writing the song, Some Days, with Regina Spektor for her 2005 release, Soviet Kitsch (Sire), and recording trumpet with Massive Attack (Virgin), The Yeah Yeah Yeahs (Interscope), Foals (Interscope), Celebration (4AD) and TV on the Radio (Touch and Go). He has performed with Spoon (Merge) and The Budos Band (Daptone). Biondo''s band, Beyondo, continues to perform regularly throughout NYC.
