Ewa Angeli is a young Pop/Nu Jazz singer from Los Angeles. She was born in Poland and moved to the United States in 2005. Her passion for music has been with her since she was a child. In High School, she started performing live in local clubs, pubs, coffee shops, schools, and at various casual events earning her fist income doing music. Those gigs paid for her voice lessons and stage clothes. She graduated from college with B.S. in International Relations. However, music is what she wants to do for living.
Ewa Angeli is her performing name, however, Ewa seems to be her first name when the rest remains a mystery... She has had a successful solo career performing under the name EWA along with various musicians in Poland. She has also been associated with various bands. Ewa grew up listening to American popular music, especially jazz and pop. Her vocal talents led her to try her hand at performing in the Warsaw area, although nothing substantial came from that early trip. After moving to Los Angeles in 2005, she formed a group that eventually became known as EWA, named after her own first name. The group''s debut album "Hold on to me" (2006) helped her to become known throughout the LA scene. Eventually, Ewa left the rest of the band behind to forge ahead on her own under the name Ewa Angeli. The mostly original selections featured musical influences as diverse as smooth Jazz, upbeat Acid Jazz, Adult Contemporary pop, and some Dance beats. Ewa''s new album "Butterfly Wings" (to be released officially in January 2009) produced by French producer Fred Benzi with 80''s bass sounds and grooves toned up this time have lyrics taking on a more personal tone. Some fans assumed that one of the primary topics is the romantic relationship between Ewa and an unknown Celtic Knight... Ewa Angeli is a very mysterious singer that creates a fairy atmosphere wherever she performs, her latest album emphasizes and demonstrates highly her ability to put people in trance through her hypnotic artistry. The new album take on a more expansive foray into Ewa''s music roots on songs like "Together," "Butterfly Wings," "You and I," which are more dance charging than her earlier work however, smoothed up with some ballads along the way (see the magic Jimmy Hendrix cover "Angel").
The lyrics continue to be of a very personal nature....
