In his latest creation, “Until We Meet Again,” Rich Paris breathes life back into the musical art form with his groundbreaking, long form R&B Musical Jam concept album.
Driven by the sweet, soulful sounds of up and coming artists such as Shannone Holt, Rubin Singleton and Fela James, “Until We Meet Again” was conceived to break all the rules when it comes to contemporary “pop” music. Backed by a lush 18 piece live orchestra, his sweeping string arrangements add a sense of sophistication, class and elegance, while his mixture of both acoustic and electronic drum beats provide a “straight from the street” rawness and edge often omitted within traditional music circles. In all, Richard creates a modern day “re-mix” wall of sound that is as dynamic as it is memorable.
About Rich Paris
Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York City, Rich was exposed early on to many of the home grown musical treasures that the world enjoys today. Beginning in the 1900’s with such masters as Aaron Copland and The Gershwin Brothers into the 50’s/60’s Doo-Wop/Soul era of arranged vocal harmonies, to the classic Broadway “thematic” style works like “West Side Story” into the danceable, beat driven songs of James Brown and Michael Jackson, and through to today’s modern Hip-Hop, Disco and Electronica styles-- nearly an entire century of musical expression is represented is his body of work. Rich’s goal is to build upon these great decades of artistic development and bring his own unique contemporary sound that can be appreciated by a modern listening audience.
If you had to come up with a conventional genre Rich Paris falls under, it would be difficult… so we decided to just create an amalgam of styles into one simple phrase: “R&B Musical Jams” It’s not quite clear in fact if Rich is introducing a bit more "Hollywood Glamour" to the art of urban dance and Hip-Hop, or in actuality, shooting a dose of “street cred” and soul into musical theater, but whatever the case, his songs induce the crowd to get up and move!
In its basic form, Rich effortlessly blends traditional live orchestrated musical elements with a rich, pure lead vocalist backed by a modern, danceable electronic beat. Known as the “Rich Re-Mix Sound” these heavily layered “beats” allow the percussion section to punch through his often complex, embellished orchestral arrangements and dominant vocal tracks. His lush string themes, mixed with the bass and beat driven “bottom end” allow for a dynamic end result that stimulates the complete bandwidth of our listening spectrum.
