Red Gem of Hades is a deathy thrash (or thrashy death) metal project based in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area of the United States.
The band''s sound plays to the strengths of the titanium lungs of vocalist Pat ''Flex'' Young and nimble fingers of guitarist Kyle Vraa. Red Gem of Hades’ vocal and rhythm style draws influence from Slayer, (old) Metallica, Testament, Amon Amarth, Dark Tranquility, Children of Bodom and similar bands, while the lead guitar work is more reminiscent of classic metal players like Dave Murray (Iron Maiden), Glenn Tipton (Judas Priest) and Criss Oliva (Savatage).
Red Gem of Hades is presently a two-man studio project based in the Minneapolis/St. Paul (USA) metropolitan area. Pat ‘Flex’ Young, familiar on the local Twin Cities metal scene as the vocalist for Twin Cities metal powerhouse Expyre, provides the vocals on Aggressive Dissension. Kyle Vraa handles the guitars and most of the songwriting.
Aggressive Dissension was self-produced by Red Gem of Hades in the studios of Vraa Music in Circle Pines, Minnesota and Profile Music in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
