NESSI is the German singer Nessi Tausendschoen with Canadian guitar player William Mackenzie and they have released their first CD together in 2008 entitled HIDE AND SPEAK. The CD is a very sparse, hypnotic blend of acoustic songs with a European flavor and has already received great reviews in Europe. They are based out of Cologne, Germany and started writing songs together in the 90´s and performed in such diverse places as India, Brazil, Europe and Canada. This CD began after being invited by Canadian award winning artist Harry Manx to record in Canada with him after opening some shows on his tour in 2007.
Nessi Tausendschoen has already released 7 CD´s in her native Germany. She has recorded jazz, avante garde, and chanson songs in German, English and French but this is the first English production which was recorded in Cologne, Germany /Salt Spring Island BC Canada and mixed in Berlin. Some guest musicians appear on the CD from Europe and Canadian guitarists Harry Manx and Kevin Breit (Norah Jones. Cassandra Wilson). Nessi Tausendschoen is well known in Germany, Austria and Switzerland with her award winning cabaret / chanson shows performed on TV, radio and in theaters. She has received the ” Salzburger Stier” and many other prestigious awards with her various shows. William Mackenzie has been living in Europe and India since 1979 and has performed with a solo theater show and bands in more than 25 countries.
