ABOUT REBECCA AND HER JOURNEY TO THE CD
Rebecca Dickson has been singing Christian Worship music since she was a very young girl and the impact that it has had on her life is huge. At the age of 10, Rebecca began taking music lessons at Stoney Creek Alliance School of Music. It was then that she discovered she had a gift and a passion for music. The long road of music lessons and practicing brought her to the unique opportunity of recording her own album. She met her producer Christopher Clause (another CDBABY artist) at her high school, where he was the music teacher. Chris saw the talent that Rebecca had and encouraged her in every way that he could. When Chris left the school for personal reasons Rebecca and a group of friends made it a goal to keep in contact with him. While out for a lunch meeting, Chris brought up the idea of recording an album to Rebecca, and from there the rest is history. Right away Rebecca new that recording this album was going to be one of the most amazing things she would experience in her life. To make the experience even more enjoyable, Rebecca gathered a group of her best friends and they became her musicians, contributing their talent to the album, Eric Sommers on drums, Devin Zietsma on acoustic guitar, Grant Jackman on bass, and Rachel Zwart on piano, with of course Rebecca and her angelic voice.
On June 8, 2003, 230 people packed the Express Restaurant in Stoney Creek to celebrate the release of One Owner. Rebecca and the band took to the stage and knocked the shoes off of the crowd. Rebecca sang all 14 tracks and had a blast doing it. "When I get up on stage it''s just a whole other place for me. I always tell people that while I''m singing I''m not really here on earth, but in ''my zone'' worshiping God. Singing brings me all the comfort I could ever need."

THE PURPOSE OF THE ALBUM
Rebecca''s reason for doing this album was not to make money or become famous. She did it because she wanted to be able to have this amazing experience and to be able to give back to the community. Each song that is on the CD has been carefully chosen by Rebecca because of its impact on her life. "This music comes from my heart and I can only pray that it touches people''s lives like it did mine."
The CD''s title was wisely thought up by Rebecca''s father, Scott Dickson. He is a car salesman and joked with her about all the car terms she could title her album. But when he said One Owner it just seemed to stick with her. "The ironic thing is that my dad was totally joking about it. But it fits so perfect with the message I want to send. God is the one and only owner of our lives." There are two original tracks on the CD; track 5 "Ray of Light," and track 8 "One Owner." Ray of Light was written by Rebecca and Christopher Clause. Rebecca wrote the words and Chris, the musical genius that he is, was able to create the perfect musical composition to fit them. One Owner, the title track, was written by Christopher Clause. The musical part of the song came to Chris while he was working in the sanctuary of his church and heard the echo when he clapped his hands.
On the back of the CD, one will notice a picture of a young Rebecca standing in front of an old Firebird, with an older man in the background watching over her. This picture has great significance to Rebecca because that older man is her Grandfather, Alex Dickson. "My grandpa passed away before he ever got the chance to hear me sing a note. But in the weirdest way it is because of him I started taking music lessons. Music lessons helped my grieving process with loosing my first family member. My Grandpa''s death was very hard on me, he was my hero! Singing allowed me to express how I felt and enabled me to feel emotions I had never felt before. So it was important for me to have a silent dedication to him visually on the CD. I know that he hears me sing. And I sure hope that he is proud of me."
