Hi. My name is Steve Mackall, co-founder of NuMac Muse along with long-time friend Danny Nucci. We''ve got lots of cool music projects we''re excited to share with you but this one seems to be the most urgent if not necessary.
Here’s the story: Many of our returning veterans of war are in trouble.
We’ve learned from our friends at the American Red Cross that unless a returning vet is retired or career military they receive no on-going money from the government for their service. That is to say they just come home and try to pick up where they left off. Not so easy in this economy. Many of these brave men and women are finding themselves unable to pay their rent, utilities or even buy groceries, let alone put together a holiday for their kids. As Mary Ogle, CEO of the Tulsa Area Red Cross puts it “…there is a gray area where unless a soldier is active duty, retired or career there is no relief program in place.”
So our goal is this: With one 99 cent download at a time we want to raise as much money as possible and donate it to BILLS FOR GI’S: a non-partisan/non-government project we’ve created in tandem with the American Red Cross to get actual cash into the hands of returning war veterans.
That’s why we’re saying: “99 IS THE NEW 100”: when you download “ANOTHER YEAR” for 99 cents (a dollar here, I know- sorry!) 100 percent of the proceeds go to BILLS FOR GI’S who will stream-line it directly to returning veterans and their families.
