Details:
"Rebekah is refreshing for the excessive "pop"-ulation of female artists these days and something different is much appreciated. A melting pot of sweet vocal fondue. Her sound is as alluring and thankfully not over-dressed with instrumentation rather what instruments are there are working to showcase the real talent behind the project...Rebekah''s vocals. Nice. Lovely. I''m a fan. "

Collected Sounds

Rebekah Jordan grew up in an all black neighborhood in Cleveland listening to everything from James Brown to João Gilberto, Motown to Mozart, Paul McCartney to the Pixies, which explains the eclectic sound of her music.

A budding songwriter, Rebekah''s song "Beautiful Disaster" was recorded by Kelly Clarkson, the first American Idol winner. Kelly loved the song so much she put it on both of her albums, produced by Matthew Wilder (of No Doubt fame) on her first self-titled release and as an acoustic bonus track on her most recent release, Breakaway.

Though she''s had had lead roles in the Warner Brothers movie "Liberty Heights" directed by Barry Levinson (Avalon, Rainman, Diner) and most recently in "Latter Days", an indie film written and directed by C. Jay Cox, who also wrote the hit movie "Sweet Home Alabama", for Rebekah, music is her love.

"Everyone in our family was musical. But music was something you did at church or at home on the weekends. So as a kid, it never occurred to me that making a life of it was feasible or even wise." So after high school, Rebekah went off to study biomedical engineering. "I showed up wearing mocassins and tie-dye with a crystal around my neck, blasting the Cocteau Twins. To say I didn''t fit in would be an understatement. People always thought I was in the wrong building, they would point me towards the art department. One day I realized they were right."

Rebekah financed, produced and has now released her CD independently through her own Tea Party Records. The 6 song EP, titled "The Trouble With Fiction" includes 5 original songs and what is becoming a signature recording of the Stevie Nicks classic, "Dreams".

For the recordings, Rebekah enlisted the help of the very talented musicians who play with her on stage: Jessica Catron, John Ballinger (Rufus Wainwright) and Butch (from the Eels, Rufus Wainwright, and Tracy Chapman).
