Details:
On Valentine''s Day of 2005, Dan Storz and Ray McMillin released what was intended to be a side-project of their now defunct college radio show (The One-Hour Pharmacy aka 1HRx). Adopting the personas Wombstretcha (the ‘serial rappist’) and Statutory Ray (the ‘cervical surgeon’), the ‘hymenic duo’ self-produced an EP release titled The Pregnant Pause. Coining the term ‘date rap’ for genre identification purposes and sporting fake moustaches and sunglasses to hide their identities, the duo intended the project to be nothing more than an in-joke among friends and a small radio listener base.

Three years, four albums (The Great Divide LP, B-Sides and Miscarriages EP, Pie Full of Knives LP, and Startin’ Floods LP), and dozens of live performances later, 1HRx Records recording artist Wombstretcha the Magnificent has become an established entity on the local music scene. Wombstretcha has spawned a cult-like following with ‘Soundproof Fans’ ranging from Finland to Japan. The band has evolved to include strippers, live metal guitars, moshing apes, a professional comic book, and even a life-sized ‘Womb Cannon’ designed to launch merchandise (condoms, stickers, etc) at live crowds.

6/7/8 marks the (intended) release date of “Right Foot Green,” an LP-length EP release that plays like a single. Instead of focusing on tired concepts like ‘themes,’ ‘cohesion,’ or ‘social relevance,’ R.F.G. challenges the listener to consume the equivalent of a soup made from all the leftovers in the kitchen. The result is a goulash of greatness, a jambalaya of jams fit only for the hungriest of ears. With eight new songs, four remixes of previous material, guest spots from local talent, skits, and more, R.F.G. delivers the goods like a mailman on speed. The EP even includes vocal versions of previously instrumental songs that were too offensive (even for Wombstretcha), as well as appearances by 1HRx Records artists MC: (Emcee Prompt) and Heavy Johnson (the most metal person alive).

Although producer and hype-man Statutory Ray remains appreciative of the support from local press, radio stations, record companies and fans alike, the fact of the matter remains: Wombstretcha don’t need you. Wombstretcha don’t need anybody!
