Red Eagle Sands of Time is a journey of times, places and memories that impact the mind and the imagination. It is an instrumental blend of piano, guitar, flute, string sections, lush synth pads and relaxing drum tracks. Each song is written to create unique mental imagery that aids in relaxation and meditation. Much of what you hear will spark memories and images of familiar events and places while waking emotions and feelings that may have been long hidden away. Each song is uniquely different; each with a different feel and flavor. The music transitions from a subtle Irish/Celtic feel to a Native American influence. It continues on to a more orchestrated Andrew Lloyd Webber style, finally culminating into a long meditative climax combining the styles of Yanni, Enigma and even Pink Floyd!
A note from Red Eagle (J.R. Stevens):
Originally Sands of Time was supposed to be a sequel to my first CD called "Cosmic Journeys of a Mad Man, " but as the album came together, it seemed to take on a life of it''s own. In doing so, it has sparked it''s own sequel which is now in the last few stages of production. It is called "Sands of Time II: Primordium" and will be available through CDBaby within the next three months. In addition, "Cosmic Journeys" will be re-mastered and made available here towards the end of this year.
Many listeners have expressed curiosity as to what inspired me to write "Ode to Fallen Heroes." Although I regret not noting this on the CD cover, Ode was written shortly after 9/11/01 and is my tribute to all of the heroes and victims of that tragic event. When you listen to this song, please remember them in your heart. May they never be forgotten.
Although Sands of Time is new to CDBaby, it has been available in my local area for about a year. It has become quite popular and is being used by several therapists, counselors, massage therapists and even dentists'' offices locally. No matter what is weighing heavily on your mind at the end of your day, Sands of Time will take you a different plane of tranquility. It is an honor to share my heart with you. Please enjoy!
