A wealth of talent...a triumph...stunning for its incredible array of styles, if not for its vast ambition...everything from pop and rock to Celtic and contemporary folk.

"Highly recommended"
Reviewer: Rick Massimo, The Providence Journal
...from Celtic to Tin Pan Alley -- and half power pop. Highly recommended...

The latest (2005) from the sublime alt-pop recording artist, also found on Not Lame Records. Breaking any existing album format molds, this unique and entertaining collection of upbeat and genre-busting songs is actually a double EP (5-song power-pop/roots rock & 5-track Celtic-folk-pop) followed by a 12-song album "The Apocryphal Compilation" (plus a 13th bonus cover song track, the original version of which sold over 2 million copies in just four days)

About the Recording...
The Rock EP was recorded in New England at Red Dog Studio and The Charlton House, and mastered at Northeastern Digital. It features the talents of a dozen guest musicians, including Ted Ansani (Material Issue), Dan Pepin (Letdown), Bob Giusti (The Schemers), as well as CD Baby artists Dave Dill, John Larson (The Marlowes), and drummer Shawn Leonard (Stefan Couture & The Campfire Orchestra).

The Roots EP was recorded on location in Japan and the US, including Lakewest Recording in East Greenwich, RI. Guests include Phil Edmonds and Mance Grady (both ex-Pendragon), Otis Read, Atwater-Donnelly, Irish singer/songwriter Brian Cullen, and CD Baby artist Dick Bolt (The Tullamore Celtic Band).

The Apocryphal Compilation is a collection of songs performed by various artists, co-produced and/or co-written by Mark Renburke in the 13 year period, 1992-2005. Features tracks from Velcro Chestwig, Raygun Vegans, Paddy & The Leper Khans, and 9 other legengary acts.

About Mark...
Solo artist who usually performs with a backing band - fusing genres to create song-oriented and upbeat original pop laced with hooks, harmonies, and humor. Mark''s musical and songwriting influences range from 70''s rooted acts like The Eagles, Boston, Billy Joel and The Alan Parsons Project to more obscure but impressive 80''s artists like Philly rockers The Hooters and Level 42 from the UK, as well as the finest American power-pop acts like The Smithereens and Material Issue. He is also heavily influenced by traditional Irish and early American roots (folk, jazz, blues) music.

Mark originally led the short lived power-pop trio The Hooks in Washington, DC (1991-1993) After relocating to Japan in 1994, released 1st solo album "In Touch" (1995). He then formed The Rising Pints with Irish singer-songwriter Brian Cullen, releasing 3 CDs under that moniker: self-titled (1997) Another Round (1999), and Charm (2002) Renburke returned to US in 1998, and has been working with various live acts including roots rock band The Essentials and the Celtic-punk Brogue & Blarney, and in production for this record.
