I was born with a Strat in my hand. My main goal in life is to write and perform music. Music of all kinds. While the trend has been for total automation and the lack of so-called hands on performances, I try to buck the trend. The loop makers and groove borrowers lack a very important thing. Soul. Today a lot of artists depend on technology and not on artistry. Though I do have a need for modern tools, I try to limit them to the tools only needed to sweeten my sound. I don''t like it when an artist claims a tune his own when you know they are using stock templates and bytes to create it.
I do it the old school way. Guitar, or piano first, then the vocals, then the boys come in to fill in the rest.
