Meet the charmingly talented, electric singer/songwriter, Beatrice Rose originally from Montreal, Quebec Canada.
The exceptionally soul-stirring melodic voice of the sparkling Beatrice Rose is truly a captivating voice to be heard by kings and queens and people of all nations, all ages and genres. This truly gifted voice is international. With a four octave range and a style that has been compared to artists'', such as: Barbra Streisand, Nancy Wilson, Mahalia Jackson, Lena Horne, Leontyne Price, Minnie Ripperton, Diana Ross and Patti LaBelle. The combination is truly amazing, truly blessed, yet truly her own.
She began singing at the tender age of 4 in nursery school. At the age of 10 she took piano lessons with Mrs. Daisy Peterson Sweeney, (sister of legendary jazz pianist, Oscar Peterson) who placed her in singing recitals and in the Montreal Black Community Youth Choir.
On her own at 16, she stopped singing for almost ten years; for it was all about paying the rent, trying to live a good, respectable life, and… paying the rent! She was blessed with many interesting office jobs along the way, in International Banking, and Music Licensing in Canada; the United Negro College Fund, and the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History, in Detroit, USA. One of the most interesting jobs was in Montreal, working at a newspaper tabloid called the GLOBE.
Her surging desire to sing never ceased. Her natural talent was honed by taking private classical voice training, with Montreal''s Betty Davis, and Mary Callaghan of Michigan, jazz vocal training with Kafur Farrell and Theodore Gentry of Toronto, along with music theory and ear-training at McGill University in Montreal.
She performed at many prestigious events and venues in Montreal, Toronto Canada and Detroit, USA. Wherever her spirit moved her, she sang. Especially while waiting… Waiting at the bus stops… waiting at the Metro… waiting at the train stations… or while walking through tunnels or secluded places. People would stop just to listen or wait to hear her pass their way.
After 25 years of pursuing, hoping and believing, Beatrice Rose can tell you from her own experiences not to ever give up on your dreams to fulfill your purpose, because with God, it is never too late. "Life is full of choices, unforeseen circumstances, obstacles and opportunities; disappointments, discouragement; and the frustrations of feeling inferior. Sadly, the consequence is time. but hopefully, we discover blessings in every storm and thankfulness for them all.
With no medals, college degrees or trails of CDs to her credit--- here with her debut CD, written, produced and performed by, Beatrice Rose.
