Details:
Before Day is just a bunch of us doing what we love to do when we can do it...after we''ve taken care of the grown up things during the day.

Our very first project, YES THE FIRST ONE, is ENJOY THE SHOW, filled with a lot of cool songs.

SOME QUESTIONS PEOPLE ASK

WHAT DO YOU SOUND LIKE? You''ll just have to listen. It''s pretty eclectic. There''s certainly a Beatles influence. But beyond that, we try not to think about it a lot.

WHAT ARE YOUR INFLUENCES? We could put a list of 400 bands here, or top selling bands, or purposefully include exotic, never heard of bands. We''re influenced by it all, and somehow it eeks into our brains and mixes with who we are, and ala, out pops "our style."

WHERE DO YOU PLAY? Front yards. Back yards. Parks. Homes. Other places. But not as a band. We don''t have time for that - we''re blown away that we found the time to write and record ENJOY THE SHOW.

SHOULD I BUY ENJOY THE SHOW? Absolutely. We don''t want to tell you what to do, but yes, absolutely buy our CD. And not just one. Buy some for your friends. For your enemies. Good question.

And in case you are wondering what kind of songs are on ENJOY THE SHOW, below is a description of each of them.

ABOUT THE SONGS (from the writer)

ENJOY THE SHOW: A typical family room can be like a circus. There are objects flying through the air. Strongmen. Princesses. Running. Jumping. Elephants in the room. Times of love. Times of fighting. Through it all, I feel like I''ve got a seat to the greatest show on earth. Just like when I was a kid at the circus. It amazes me. Scares me. But it never bores me.

THE WAY IT GOES: Life is series of uncontrollable events unfolding before your eyes. One day, you hit the green lights. The next day, you hit the car in front of you.
One, you want to bottle up. The other can drive you to the bottle. But there is great freedom in knowing "that''s just the way it goes."

WHAT IT''S LIKE: Sometimes I am totally incapable of describing my love. Words don''t seem to do it justice. It just is. It''s years of experiences wrapped up in a feeling. So much stuff that gets garbled with words.

AGAIN: Clueless. Forgetful. Love keeps popping up again and again. And yet I act as if it''s something new. I am so thankful for the faithfulness of God, friends and family for patiently sticking with me.

SMILE: Remember falling in love. That smile you couldn''t wipe off your face. The growing courage to let him or her know how you felt. Putting your heart on the line. It''s a beautiful, vulnerable feeling when you''re ready to let those words fly, not knowing if they''ll lift with the wind or crash and burn.

STRUM: Many of our songs are written at night, or Before Day, as we call it. This is one of those times that started with an acoustic guitar, a starry night and a “deep down feeling inside.” If our songs are heard by no one else than the night, then they have still served a great purpose.

DREAM A LITTLE: There is so much activity in life. The soul can get left behind. Don''t let it happen. Stop. Find a quiet place. Listen. And dream a little. Because often the world does not want you to dream. It is telling you to do and be something different than who you are and what you dream about.

FREER THAN EVER BEFORE: This song is for two great friends of mine. At least once a year, we jump in the car and head out of town until we can find someplace far away from the city. We fish. We hike. We listen to the sound of water. Pretty cool stuff. And there are times I wake up and want to escape and that''s what this song is about.

SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL: A song about the beauty, complexity and mystery of love. It is so out of my hands, something I often rejoice in and yet don''t understand when and where it comes, why it can be so present and absent in a mind-boggling, wonderful kind of way.

MELODY: Melody is about the love relationship that exists between songwriters and music. A sometimes compulsive, obsessive relationship as many significant others of songwriters can attest to. Sometimes songs come out of nowhere. Sometimes they hide. But the act of writing music is an amazing, mysterious thing.

PLANET YOU: This song is about loss. Of love. Of life. Of things from the past you hold closely, but cannot recapture. When my mind wanders to those times, I am trying to find Planet You. I am flying around in space and I''m looking for a time and place that doesn''t exist anymore. All of us have a Planet You, but it eludes us.

CRASH: This song was written and thrown on right at the end of our recording. We decided to keep the acoustic vibe on it partly because we were lazy, out of budget, and because we liked it that way. Another theme similar to Again. There are times when I am just cruising along and, crash, I get hit by love. I often miss it, but when it does hit me, very cool!
