Not since the Lurpack advert has trombone sounded so sexy, sax/flute stolen from Mark Ronson, the original drummer from Groove Armada and the first ever female member of Black Dyke Mills Band on vibes......If your iPod contains Madness, Dolly Parton, Arctic Monkeys and Joni Mitchell, this band is for you....no pigeons were holed in the making of this band

Every year one band stands out as being the best, most fun, most cheerfuly delightful act and not always the ones one expects. For me it was Becks and her merry men this year, and for many others too, young and old.....Chapel Allerton Festival organisers

BECKS - Vocals and Guitar
At 15 was strumming along to Joni Mitchell in her bedroom when her mother (who is also a professional singer)offered Becks her first professional singing job on a tour around Ireland. This led to appearances singing bvs on RTE television''s The Late Late Show and playing Jenny in the musical Aspects of Love alongside one of Britain''s favourite TV judges John Barrowman (I''d do anything/Torchwood). After studying at Leeds College of Music and etering the real world Becks realised that to make a living as a singer you had to be able to sing anything in a ny style and teach anyone else how they could do the same. This involved work such as sessions (from house DJs in their bedrooms to live orchestra recordings) Aladin in pantomime, jazz festivals, cabaret, teaching, duo with guitarist Jon Gomm and solo piano/gtr gigs. Her ambition is to sing the voice of a character in a simpsons episode

JOE – Drums
On his first day in London Joe got a call from Andy Cato asking if he''d like to join his band Groove ‘em Harder. Shit name, he thought, but what the hey, it might help make some contacts. The first gig was at Shepherd’s Bush Empire for MTV. Maybe he was wrong about the name. After a party hosted by Elton John where Joe elbowed Duff Paddy in the ribs and walked in on Little Kim in the toilet the band made more money and decided they wanted a drummer who was more expensive. Joe went on to the hard graft of a cruise ship, working up to 2 hours a day sometimes. Back home now Joe has joined Becks and the Bullets just before their meteoric rise to fame.

JENNY - Percussion
By the time Jenny left school she had worked with Evelyn Glennie and Colin Currie and played in some of Britain’s best concert halls. While studying at Leeds College of Music she signed to the Black Dyke Mills brass band as their first female percussionist. During her time with the band they worked with Tori Amos, Elton John, Lesley Garret and even Alan Titchmarsh. Jenny is the tuned percussionist in La Banda Europa, a 40 piece orchestra with some of Europe’s best virtuoso musicians put together by Jim Sutherland who has gone on to be BAFTA nominated for his compositions. She joined Becks and The Bullets as "It’s not every day that you get to play vibraphone in a pop band and they''re even letting me sing too, the fools"

ATH - Sax and flute
Ath was born Fife in Scotland and moved to Leeds to study at LCM. After graduating he formed "The Haggis Horns" leading to numerous sessions and playing with bands such as "The New Mastersounds". The Haggis Horns then formed their own 8 piece funk band and released the album "Hot Damn" in 2007. As an in demand horn section they were hired by Corinne Bailey Rae, Amy Winehouse and are currently members of "Mark Ronson and the Version Players" gigging with the likes of Duran Duran, Lily Allen, Charlatans, Robbie Williams and The Kaiser Chiefs. Atholl is a frustrated jazzer who only plays stabs and swells.

ANDY - Trombone.
At an early age Andy discovered recordings of his hero George Chisholm in his grandfather''s record collection and has loved the trombone ever since. Being a vintage jazz trombone specialist, he has performed with many jazz bands of this style, including the world famous Guinness Jazz Band lead by one of Ireland''s greatest drummers, Des Hopkins. Andy tours England and Europe regularly playing in jazz festivals, theatres and jazz clubs, such as the Cork Jazz Festival and the Storyville Jazz Club with Andy Hillier''s Hot Jazz Aces and has even been spotted as a guest musician on QE2 Jazz and Big Band cruises.

JEZ - Double Bass
Jez took up double bass when he found transporting a bass guitar far too easy. Playing many prestigious venues around the UK and Europe Jez has also been fortunate enough to work with the king of saying what you see Roy Walker and the organist from Blackpool tower, Rapunzel. Recently back from the Middle East, to study jazz at LCM, Jez became a bullet after a misheard telephone conversation and promises of world domination.

PHIL - Guitar
Phil started playing in big band around Oxford at the tender age of 15 and at 18 moved to Leeds to study and graduate at LCM. After great recommendation, Phil was cradle snatched by Becks and the Bullets and happliy gave up one of his day jobs to join the band.
