Rick Adams (Jr.) was born in Bellflower, California on February 3, 1981. He was raised further east of Bellflower in the city of La Mirada. Rick''s musical talent was first expressed at the age of 7 when he easily kept a beat on a set of drums his parents purchased from a Toys-R-Us. His attention soon thereafter began to focus on a guitar his father owned; yet his hands were too small to form a bar chord across the frets.
Rick received his first guitar and a small amplifier at the age of 9. One of his first musical influences was Steve Winwood, which he expressed not only on the guitar, but on the keyboard as well. His natural talent became evident as he took guitar lessons at the age of 12, quickly developing the lead style of his primary influence, guitar legend Eric Clapton.
Music was Rick''s passion, winning out over a business acumen that was captured in an interview at the age of 12 with business reporter Jim Newman on local television station KTLA, and business channel KWHY at the age of 14. His business and computer savvy once again lost to music as his Fullerton College major changed from business, to computer science and finally to music.
Rick currently acknowledges his music influences as Eric Clapton; Pink Floyd; the Rolling Stones; Grand Funk Railroad; Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young; Chicago; and Electric Light Orchestra. He attributes his guitar style to not only Eric Clapton, but also David Gilmour of Pink Floyd fame.
Rick writes and composes his own music. He plays and records each instrument across sixteen tracks, which he mixes into a form he calls "Instrumental Rock." His songs cut across several types of musical genre and are enjoyed by several generations of music lovers.
