"I have enjoyed this album so much.......Some debut albums are lacking but this is pure Nolan pleasure from A to Z, the roots of what he is and what he represents. Entertaining sequence fest of traditional gems and pure voice and production. Highly recommended." .....Eddie Russell, Country Eastern West, Columbus, Texas

Brendan Nolan was born in the city of Dublin and his early influences were the Dubliners and the Clancy Brothers. Although he started his musical career as a drummer, he embraced the guitar during the singer-songwriter boom of the early to mid seventies and found his real love in folk and acoustic music. His years as a drummer may explain the percussive sound that he can bring to his playing on much of his material.
In the late seventies after leaving school his interest brought him into contact with the vibrant ballad scene in and around Dublin. He played with a couple of groups and was in the process of carving out a solo career for himself when he was approached to play a six week gig in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. After that he headed to Montreal where he had been offered an engagement at the Old Dublin Pub, a new Irish pub in the city. He settled in Montreal and his name became synonymous with the Old Dublin. During his time there it was voted the most popular pub in the city by the Montreal Mirror.
Brendan has performed at festivals and acoustic venues across Canada from Lunenburg, Nova Scotia to Calgary, Alberta. In August of ''97 he headlined a concert on the Plains of Abraham in Quebec City commemorating the one-hundred and fiftieth anniversary of the Irish famine.
He now lives in St. Pete Beach, Florida where he has played most of the Irish venues in the state as well as numerous festivals there. He has also been featured several times on WMNF "Live" in Tampa. Out of state he has headlined at many festivals including the North Texas Irish Festival on three occasions, as well as Savannah''s Irish festival where he will be appearing again in February ''09. He has performed in successive years at both the Milwaukee Irish festival and the Newport Irish Festival in Rhode Island.

Tempus Fugitive is Brendan''s debut album. It is a CD of great songs that he has sung over the years and wanted very much to record. The opening track "The Dublin Jack of All Trades" sets the stage and is one of three Dublin songs on the CD. He has a great love for the music of his native city and it comes through in the original "Oh to Be In Dublin." The CD has two other originals, the haunting "The Trees Are Growing Bare" and an instrumental "Maureen''s Theme".
There are sad songs like "The Sally Gardens" but also ones that will bring a smile like "Brian O''Linn", the Irishman who invented fashion!

Gary Muir of the Brantford Expositor noted after one of Brendan''s shows "his accompaniment whether on guitar or bodhran was never intrusive but helped set the mood needed by each song and with his straight-forward and unpretentious musical delivery left the audience in a mellow and satisfied frame of mind".
