Details:
“…This bird has two wings, and at the end of the day, the sky’s my limit; the sky’s my cage...”; croons Bob Barney in his somber anthem “The Middle.” “I want to uncover a picture in the listener’s mind that I think we’ve all got stuffed in some dusty corner up there,” Bob remarks. Bob has always pursued the bigger picture in his songwriting and music making, but began as a drummer. He lugged his desire and drums all around town, playing with many assorted acts while his singing remained buried in his doubt.

Though he knew he wanted to take music more seriously, Bob continuously battled with the idea of college and pursuing a future that wasn’t his own. With both hands on the rope, he pulled himself through a few semesters at a community college in Pasadena, Texas, but music pulled a little harder.

For the next five years, Bob fumbled through a couple of bands and misguided demos while learning to play and craft his own songs. Then in the summer of 2006, Waiting on Red was formed. The band riddled the following year with many shows, released an epk and received some recognition but never reached its full potential in the industrial-based climate of Houston. Dizzy but not disheartened, Bob pursued expanded opportunities in Austin, Texas. With the release of his first solo project in January and the newest "The First to Lose His Leaves" ep that was released late August, the future seems a little bigger and a little brighter.
