Ultraviolet Radio, fronted by guitarist James McConnell of Detroit''s own rock quartet The GO, is scheduled to release it''s newest full-length album Walking Into The Light, December 1st 2008 exclusively in the Detroit area. The album will be released internationally January 1st 2009.
"The inspiration for making this record stemmed from an urge to try a new direction creatively and musically. The song "The Experiment" was the first to be recorded and somewhat summed up my intentions for recording this record. I''ve been on quite a new-wave kick for the past year or so and I suppose this is my interpretation of those influences," McConnell explains.
Although McConnell wrote and played most of the instruments on this collection of songs, a few friends from the local Detroit rock scene including Matt Smith (Outrageous Cherry), John Krautner and Bobby Harlow (fellow band mates of The GO), Erika Herron (formerly of The Elevations) and drummer Robert Wonnacott aided in the recording of a handful of works on "Walking Into The Light."
