6 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Modern Rock, POP: with Live-band Production

Details:
Ringleader''s "No Slide Guitar" is a follow-up to their original 4-song EP, including two new songs, "South Dakota" and "Sound Barrier". Combining a 70''s-era glam style with rhythmic 80''s keyboard pop, Ringleader adds a heavy 90''s guitar sound to create a modern edge.

Ringleader is a rock band based in the DC area. Ringleader''s co-founders, Lena Esposito and Chris Brownelle, are a songwriting duo that come from different musical backgrounds making for a fresh blend in the poprock genre.

Esposito began her career playing weekly solo acoustic performances while attending Montana State University in Bozeman. It was there that she developed her original material and live performance skills. Her efforts culminated in the May 2002 release of her debut solo cd recorded at the acclaimed Bias Recording Studios with 5-time Grammy-nominated Producer Bob Dawson. The recording boasts the contributions of Jon Carroll (Grammy award winning Starland Vocal Band) and bassist Wade Matthews (Nils Lofgren).

Brownelle has been playing the North Carolina/New York club circuit in various bands since the mid-nineties. His last band, Smartbomb, played with such national acts as Matchbox 20, Smashmouth, Faith No More, and Fuel. It was ultimately signed to the indie label Razor and Tie. Their rock version of Faith Hill''s "Breathe", recorded in Nashville''s Castle Studios, was in rotation on national radio in the spring of 2001.

In early 2003,Esposito and Brownelle began collaborating on songs which would eventually become the foundation for Ringleader. Using heavy guitars, synth textures and melody-driven vocals as their core sound, Ringleader began recording demo versions of what would become their debut ep. The songs "Bonds", "Jukebox Loveletter", and "Lovetrap" provide the basic, heavy but hook-filled pop sound while "Imaginary Best Friend" showcases a more quiet and introspective side. "South Dakota" and "Sound Barrier" are the newcomers, bringing with them more depth and complexity to Ringleader''s sound.
