Details:
Lyrically driven, sensually oriented singer-songwriter Amy Rink connects with her audience through the expression of the visions, thoughts and experiences portrayed within her songs. Straying away from comparisons to other artists Amy appreciates a variety of musical genres. Through this appreciation, she has emerged as an independent artist with a fine, full, sensual vocal appeal who will be defined by not only a hit single, but by her experiences and eclectic body of work.

In her debut album, entitled I Should Know Better, Amy explores the encompassing theme that there is always the option to have effect on one''s own life. Whether we are feeling lonely, curious, broken-hearted, lost, found, playful, etc., Amy suggests that acknowledgment of where we stand now provides a foundation from which to take - or dance - the next step.

For example, in Captain, Amy reminds us that we don''t have to let our current situation dictate what will happen in our lives. We don''t need to go down with the ship. Sometimes we don''t know the "correct" course to chart, but by making a bold choice in any direction we are released to navigate according to our own prevailing winds as they arise and shift direction.

In the reggae-tinged Speak of My Silence someone is asked to reveal the feelings behind their silence. They then wonder if anyone is really willing to engage in the intensity of the answer.

In other songs, such as Curiosity, Eye of the Storm, Good Enough and the title track, Amy encourages us to recognize the enjoyment that life has to offer. Choices don''t always have to be difficult or forever binding. We can choose to participate - sometimes with a bit of abandon - in the moments as they present themselves.

Amy Rink understands the reflecting and motivating power of musical expression. I Should Know Better offers the listener the opportunities to chill out and enjoy the tunes, or to tune in and really listen - and it delivers in both.
