About JUDAH:
The band JUDAH was formed in 1993 and is a cutting edge band specializing in high-energy passionate music incorporating several styles such as rock, alternative, new age, instrumental, and spontaneous music. JUDAH is the "house band" for a local church where we play three to four times per week. Each Friday night we host a concert style service that gathers hundreds of people from a 60+ mile radius.
JUDAH also performs for conferences, youth events, concerts, and churches in a large regional area of West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Ohio. In addition to the regional concerts, we recently flew into Chicago to play for a three day international conference, and are currently scheduling concerts in Pittsburgh, PA, Buffalo, NY as well as Philadelphia, PA and Atlanta, GA.
JUDAH''s first recording River Ablaze, released September 1998, is a dynamic live project. It has many popular songs as well as a few originals making it a "wild and loose" worship experience. River Ablaze is currently in over 15 nations.
JUDAH''s second recording A People Possessed was released in November 2000. It was also recorded live in order to capture the intensity of both the band and the audience. It was recorded with best selling international worship leader, Georgian Banov as special guest artist.
Georgian, who lives in New Orleans, LA is from Bulgaria and is an accomplished violinist and guitarist. He travels extensively both in the U.S. and abroad and is known as the leader of the early Christian music band Silverwind. He was featured on the cover of the January 2001 issue of Charisma, a popular Christian magazine read by hundreds of thousands of people. This CD combines the leading of both Bill Themelaras and Georgian Banov.
It contains much "spontaneous" material which was unrehearsed and created during the worship. The overwhelming sense of freedom, intimacy, and joy is sure to captivate the listener. A People Possessed is a passionate expression of worship in the new millenium.
About Bill Themelaras
Lead Vocalist/Worship Leader:
Bill Themelaras was born and raised in the Wheeling, WV area. Though he was a product of a broken home, he was determined to find God''s plan for his life. Bill began his walk with God with the United Methodist Church. At an early age he knew that God had a plan for his life. As he matured opportunity to become a youth speaker for the Methodist denomination opened.
Bill traveled Ohio, West Virginia and Pennsylvania ministering to youth groups. Though he was tremendously successful as a youth speaker, Bill knew God had called him to expand his areas of ministry. He was led to Praise Family Worship Center in Glen Dale, WV where music ministry began working through him.
His gifting and commitment ultimately brought him to the position of worship leader. He continues to serve this generation both as a musician and youth speaker.
As worship leader, Bill Themelaras catapults both the praise team JUDAH, of which he''s been the leader of for over 7 years, and worshippers into the Father''s presence with his unique gift best described as "Davidic", due to its power and intensity. As praise & worship creates a God Moment, Bill enters the "Throne Zone" and leads the way towards the anointing of that moment. Miracles are released as worshippers encounter the Father to bask in His presence.
Bill ministers with freedom and passion as he is determined to leave today''s paradigm and embrace the never known'' the instant that God reveals it. The anointing flows through Bill and enables him to lead both youth in "wild & loose" jam sessions as well as churches into intimate embraces with the Father all during the same worship service!
The wisdom in this seasoned ministry surpasses his 26 years resulting from his integrity to remain with his Pastor and spiritual father for over 10 years for mentoring. As the music he has written states, we are at a point of convergence and Bill Themelaras is prepared to move to the next level in prophetic worship.
Along with his music career, Bill has been happily married to his wife Lynne for the past five years and the proud father of his newborn daughter Nia McKenzie Themelaras.
