With a BA in International Political Economics and an MS in Broadcast Journalism, Jamie’s logical career endeavor was to travel the world playing piano! The opportunity to follow her dream arrived as an emergency opening for a keyboard player in a cruise ship show-band two weeks after finishing her Masters.
Predominantly self-taught, Jamie was thrilled to be thrown headfirst into her soul calling. And through hard work and determination, she is living and loving her dream of playing music professionally.
Cruise travel wooed Jamie to play cabaret around coastal South America, Dixieland music in the Med, and your gramma''s greatest hits in the hippest cosmopolitan ports of Scandinavia. Her land work includes playing in R&B, cover, and big bands from British Columbia to Boston and she will be taking her art to the international scene in 2009.
A life love affair with the music of Antonio Carlos Jobim inspired Jamie to compose and so adopt Brazil''s rich musical influences into her works. She has made many journeys to this magical land as a missionary, English teacher, and musician. She is considers herself very blessed to be on a spectacular path of understanding the heart and the truth of one''s self.
