Details:
After two CDs of original music, Robin Greenstein''s 3rd CD is a traditional folk record of songs about women.

"Images of Women" is based on her concert-lecture "Images of Women in Folk Music." Robin''s background in folk music is extensive. She studied guitar, banjo and folklore at the Guitar Workshop in Roslyn, NY, later becoming a teacher at the same school. She attended Pinewoods Folk Music Camp, run by the English Country Song & Dance Society. Robin earned a B.A. in Music from SUNY-Stony Brook, studying for a year at Trinity College of Music and King''s College in London. At Stony Brook she studied and worked as an assistant to famed folk performer/music professor Hedy West ("500 Miles"), cataloguing and indexing her extensive collection of American folk music.

From 1978-80, Robin was the recipient of a federal CETA grant in NYC, researching and performing traditional Sephardic Jewish folk songs. A lively, engaging artist, she has performed at hundreds of colleges over the past 10 years, in addition to many folk venues. Since 2000, Robin has been a clinician for the Martin Guitar Company.

This CD is recorded in the style of "O Brother Where Art Thou" and will delight fans of folk music everywhere. It features Robin''s stellar vocals along with guitar, lots of banjo, fiddle, harmonica, bass and percussion. The songs include ballads, blues and lyric songs.

"Images of Women" was recently reviewed in SING OUT by Mike Regenstreif who wrote
"Before hearing this recording, I had only known Robin Greenstein as a singer-songwriter. It turns out she is a very impressive interpreter of traditional folk songs. Greenstein complements her comfortable-sounding vocals with some fine guitar and banjo playing. As she implies in the album title, she''s planning to release a second volume of traditional songs in the future. I''m eagerly awaiting it."
